The Scranton Film Office is a
community organization and we rely on input from people like you. We are always looking
for suggestions for new filming locations. If you know of a location in Northeastern Pennsylvania / Poconos in which you
think film producers might be interested, please let us know. Send your suggestions (and
preferably a photo or two) to info@scrantonfilmoffice.com.
Locations can be either be public locations (such as parks, government buildings, government property, etc) or private locations (such as private homes, commercial buildings, private land etc.). We must have the owner's permission before we can advertise privately owned locations.

Why should you rent your
property to the film industry? Revenue The film industry will compensate you for the use of your property. It's Fun Film production in your business can be a unique and fun experience for your employees and customers. It provides a break from the routine and can promote a sense of pride in the workplace. It Provides Promotional Opportunities Filming can attract media of all kinds and can be used to promote your company. If your location is an established set, then that can be used to promote business. You can use that information to attract the public to you. It's Good for the Regional Economy Filmed and taped entertainment is a $20 billion dollar industry and is the number two export in the United States. The film industry can help bring jobs to our area. The Necessity of Location Filming Companies film more on location than on the studio lot because it provides a more realistic look, it's less expensive, and it's faster. If they intend to film on location, we want them spending production dollars and hiring our people here in Northeastern Pennsylvania / Poconos. |
Photos should be wide-angle, showing as much of the area as possible. Even
if there is a 'flaw' in the scene, show it anyway. This lets directors know exactly what
they have to shoot around before arriving.
